EVALUATION OF EATING ATTITUDES IN PATIENTS ATTENDING MULTIPLE SCLEROSIS PATIENT CAMP

Aim: The patient camp is an activity that allows MS patients to socialize and reduce their problems related diseases. For this reason, study was carried out determine how the camping environment affects eating attitudes will affect nutrition of patients.Methods: In cross-sectional study, 40 who attending in 6th were included. Demographic characteristics behaviour questioned with a questionnaire form. Anthropometric measurements taken. Eating evaluated 26-item Attitude Test (EAT-26). SPSS 21.0 statistics program used analyze data p <0.05 considered statistically significant.Results: 22 women (55.0%), 18 men (45.0%) 72.5% married 32.5% working. 50.0% them overweight / obesity. mean age 1.67 ± 1.21 year. Mean EAT-26 score 14.65 10.53 attitude 77.5% normal. According eating, 65.0% do not like eat alone, 97.5% together 87.5% taste meals camp.Conclusions: It determined half obesity 22.5% had disorder. thought holding increasing number providing support these camps on nutrition, contribute positively multiple sclerosis patients.
